Oct 15, 2020 · Some alternative tankmates would be corydoras and khuli loaches. they are very very peaceful and adorable. For this tank I would reccomend 1 betta, 1 snail, and 6 pygmy corydoras OR 1 betta, 1 snail, and 2 khuli loaches. It's better to be safe than sorry if neon tetras fin nip. Anyway, Your tank looks solid! Petco should have told you to change the water every day with new fish… but 2.5 gallons with 2 fish is so small that it will be pretty much impossible to maintain safe parameters. I’d get them a big enough tank (20 to 30 gallons for fancy goldfish) and do daily water changes, reduce feeding, testing the water every day.
